YOUR WORK:

How did you get started with Salesforce?

My journey with Salesforce began during my tenure as an Application Developer, where I was assigned a leadership role in a project aimed at implementing Salesforce and integrating it with various existing systems, including an ERP system. This role provided me with a hands-on opportunity to explore and develop on the Salesforce platform. I found myself quickly captivated by its extensive functionality and the customization capabilities it offered, allowing us to tailor solutions to meet specific business needs.

What’s your favorite thing about building solutions with Salesforce?

As a Salesforce developer, one of the things I appreciate the most is the platform’s flexibility and versatility. Salesforce provides numerous tools for customization and configuration, allowing us to tailor solutions without the need for coding in many cases. However, when custom development is required, the possibilities are vast, limited more by our creativity than by technological constraints.

What energizes you at work?

What energizes me at work is the combination of our talented team and the interesting challenges we receive from our clients. The excitement and passion of my colleagues at Rosetree is truly fascinating. Our team thrives on tackling complex business requirements and crafting elegant solutions that deliver meaningful value to the organization and its users. There’s a palpable energy when we collectively lean into a challenging problem and work towards an innovative solution that drives real impact.

Name a work achievement you’re proud of.

I take great pride in our development team. My role is to support them however I can. I am proud of the exceptional work they produce and the collaborative culture we have nurtured within the team.

YOUR MINDSET:

Who or what inspires you?

The Rosetree team really inspires me. It’s filled with some of the most talented people I’ve ever met, and watching them work together is nothing short of inspiring.

What’s one thing you’re learning now? (professional or personal)

I recently had the opportunity to dive relatively deep into artificial intelligence. It was very interesting to understand not only AI’s capabilities but also how some of the technology, like Machine Learning and Neural Networks, work under the hood (at least at a high level).

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Nice, Funny, Friendly

JUST FOR FUN:

What’s something you love about the place you live?

I love that Chattanooga is a large enough city to have several amenities while also being small enough to run into friends while out and about. Chattanooga was also the first city in the US to offer 1 gigabit-per-second fiber internet service to everyone in the service area which has made it a great place to work remotely. I also love Chattanooga’s access to outdoor activities like mountain biking, climbing, white water rafting, etc.

What could we find you doing outside of work?

I have two girls who are 5 and 7 years old. My wife and I are at that stage of life where we are constantly carting the kids to and from activities. I spend a lot of time cheering the kids on and even helping to coach their soccer teams. While all of the activities keep us very busy we would also pause this time in our life if we could; we are having so much fun supporting and watching the kids.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback?

In the age of instant music streaming, I find myself missing the era of CDs. There was something genuinely special about the experience of getting a physical album — the anticipation of its release, the first time you’d look through the album art and then listening to the album track by track. With the convenience and library of streaming services, we have gained incredible access to music but in some ways diluted how we (or at least I) listen and appreciate music.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

To be honest, I am not really one for Karaoke. You can see the answer above, but I really don’t listen to the same songs very often. If I had to pick a karaoke song, I would probably pick something from Disney because, thanks to the kids, I could sing each of those songs from the heart.
