She has deep experience in a wide variety of industries including SaaS, manufacturing and nonprofits, plus a background in marketing and business leadership that drives a focus on measurable business outcomes.
YOUR WORK:
How did you get started with Salesforce?
I began my career as a graphic designer and worked my way up within a manufacturing company to leading the marketing department. As a marketing director, I managed everything from sales development to graphic design to product marketing. I wore a lot of hats in that role, and of course, one of them was to lead the implementation of Salesforce for the customer support, marketing and sales teams. Voila! During that implementation project, working as a business SME, I fell in love with Salesforce and decided to make the leap to Salesforce as a career.
What’s your favorite thing about building solutions with Salesforce?
Working with the Salesforce platform gives me the opportunity to work across teams, break down silos, improve business processes and deliver the “wow factor” for clients. I love how Salesforce makes it easy to make work more efficient and more fulfilling for people. Let folks focus on the human aspects of business and automate the rest!
What energizes you at work?
Collaboration and meaningful work. When I get to work with great people, doing work that I know impacts people’s professional and personal lives, I’m happy.
Name a work achievement you’re proud of.
I’ve had opportunities to mentor folks throughout my career. Helping someone develop their skills and seeing their self-confidence grow is the most fulfilling work I’ve done.
YOUR MINDSET:
Who or what inspires you?
The talented, skilled people around me. I’ve had the pleasure of working with incredibly smart, driven people and seeing my colleagues excel drives me to bring my A+ game, too.
What’s one thing you’re learning now? (professional or personal)
I just got a new dog, so I’ve been learning a lot about training techniques. He’s teaching me a lot about positive reinforcement!
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Ambitious, enthusiastic, funny (I hope!)
JUST FOR FUN:
What’s something you love about the place you live?
The Midwest isn’t usually what comes to mind when you think about nature destinations, but fall in Indiana is truly beautiful. We have a large network of railway tracks that have been converted into miles of trails out through farmland and forests. I love jumping on my bike and get out in the countryside.
What could we find you doing outside of work?
Cycling, hiking with my dog, doing karaoke or reading.
What trend do you hope makes a comeback?
Using more than just Facebook to stay in touch with people! I miss the days of penpals and hand-written Christmas cards.
