Jared joined Rosetree Solutions in February 2021. He started in sales but forged a path into more technical roles, having been a Salesforce consultant for the past few years.

How did you get started with Salesforce?

Back in 2016 I was hired as a sales rep for a Salesforce ISV and I worked my way onto the solutions engineering team and eventually product management. I was fortunate that the company was open to letting employees dive into Trailhead and move into more technical roles if that’s what they wanted to pursue. From there it was only a matter of time before I ended up in the consulting world and that’s where I’ve been (more or less) for almost three years.

What’s your favorite thing about building solutions with Salesforce?

I’m a frequent user of bad analogies, so you may have to humor me when I say that solution design in Salesforce is like playing with legos when you were a kid – the things that you can build are really only limited by what salesforce “pieces” are available for you to snap together. My other favorite thing is leveraging the Salesforce community to see what awesome things my peers have built that I can incorporate in my own Salesforce toolbox.

What energizes you at work?

Does anyone answer this question with a response other than “coffee”? Outside of the thing that gives me physical energy, I find that I get motivation from positive client reactions to things we build in Salesforce. When we implement something that makes someone’s day-to-day easier, and they’re genuinely excited about it, that’s a great day at work.

Name a work achievement you’re proud of.

I’m undefeated in corporate team building tricycle races.

Who or what inspires you?
I actually get really inspired both by people that are new to Salesforce and are just “drinking to kool-aid” for the first time, and by ecosystem veterans who have succeeded at building their own brand, blog, podcast, etc within the community and really made a name for themselves.
What’s one thing you’re learning now? (professional or personal)

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Nerd. Thorough. Random-fact-guy.

When you aren’t helping organizations sell faster, serve better, and work smarter, what can you be found doing? (hobbies and interests)

I have three kids under the age of nine. If I’m not manning my home office battle station, whatever I’m doing is typically involving them. That, or fixing something on the “honey do” list that my wife keeps for me.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback?

I would be thoroughly entertained if early 2000’s pop-punk/emo music made a comeback.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

“Carry On My Wayward Son” by Kansas

Welcome Jared, we’re excited to have you be part of the Rosetree family!
